4 Must Try Taco Tuesday Hotspots

It’s the most wonderful time of the…week! Taco Tuesday! Just minutes from the U.S./Mexico border, San Diego has become a hub for taco shops, and today we’re going to share with you four of our favorites! Warning, there might be some drooling!


Taqueria Revolucion

Taqueria Revolucion offers the best classic street tacos on the north side of the border. These one of a kind tacos take a lot of strenuous work to perfect. The first shift of the day starts at 1 AM to prep the adobada trompo (the rotisserie with pineapple placed on top), now that’s dedication! The carne asada tacos are topped with guacamole and the adobada tacos are topped with a sweet green sauce that creates the perfect balance of sweet and savory. And of course, let’s not forget the tortillas. Freshly made, they complete the taco. Aside from their tacos, their mulitas are a popular crowd pleaser; a quesadilla and taco in one… yes please!



Everything about ­¡Salud! screams perfection. From the food to the art, this is the perfect place to make your stomach satisfied and your Insta feed hip. With lines out the door at all hours of the day, you won’t want to miss this place. On Taco Tuesdays they have 3 for $6 classic favorites; carne asada, chicken, carnitas, al pastor, and birria. Located in the heart of Barrio Logan, an upcoming neighborhood with Mexican roots, ¡Salud! perfectly embodies the Mexican-American lifestyle with all the chicano art that covers every inch of the restaurant.

Thought we were done? Not so fast, you can’t leave without trying their churros and ice cream. We would literally eat this everyday if we could! With a Tajin rimmed glass, this dessert takes an interesting approach to sweet and pairs surprisingly well with the ice cream and churro combo.


El Toro Del Cerro

Minutes from San Diego State University you will find El Toro Del Cerro. This is a local favorite that gives you the best of both worlds; you get Mexican comfort food with fresh ingredients that coalign with the California lifestyle. Here, the native San Diego owner and his wife make sure their customers are well taken care of with great quality and specials throughout the week. Some of our favorites include their TJ tacos and of course, their carne asada fries. If you’re looking for a place with genuine hospitality and amazing comfort food, El Toro Del Cerro is the place to be!

For those of you who prefer seafood tacos, there is no place better than The Fishery in north Pacific Beach. From tacos to sandwiches, this place is seafood galore! Opened by fourth generation San Diegans, The Fishery offers nothing but the freshest seafood. The Fishery places an emphasis on the quality of the food through a farmer’s market driven concept. You’ll get a sea-to-table service with organic produce and fresh fish coming in on a daily basis. As for the tacos, we especially enjoy their Baja fish, shrimp, and swordfish tacos. If you want to dive further into the seafood aspect, make sure to come in on a Tuesday for their Tuesday Tasting menu where Chef Paul creates a whole new tasting menu with wine pairings you won’t find in their daily menu.
